The Reno-Tahoe International Airport in Reno is the closest airport to Tahoe with commercial airline services. In addition to a number of cargo lines, there are several passenger airlines that fly in and out of Reno, and the airport has recently added a number of non-stop flight destinations from the region. The airport serves more than three million passengers annually, and a recent upgrade, including a number of restaurants and stores in addition to free WiFi, gives the facility a modern feel. Hotel shuttles and Reno bus service is available from the airport, and several car rental agencies have desks onsite. Visitors driving to Tahoe from the Reno airport can take Interstate 80 to Truckee, drive to South Reno and follow Mount Rose Highway to Incline Village or travel to Carson City and take U.S. Highway 50 over Spooner Summit and on to South Shore, while those who are interested in less direct routes can drive even farther south and access the basin by way of Kingsbury Grade or Hope Valley.
