The Pine Cone Resort is one of the very few lodgings on the Nevada side of South Shore that isn't part of one of the casinos. And the neon sign out front isn't retro … it's original. The resort has been here since 1955 providing a place to stay for generations of Tahoe visitors. The property consists of five two-story chalets, and each one has four separate apartments. These units each have a fireplace, kitchenette, main room, bedroom and bathroom. Most of the units are dog-friendly, and other amenities include WiFi, bicycle use, kayak use and free access to a nearby fitness center. There is also a heated outdoor pool and hot tub as well as a picnic area with barbecues. During the summer there is a three-night minimum stay; during the other seasons, the minimum stay is two nights.
