If you want to try slip-sliding around on skates instead of on skis or a snowboard, the Village at Northstar has just the thing – a 9,000-square-foot ice-skating rink. The rink is right in the middle of the village and is free for all. Along with skate rentals, the rink is surrounded by fire pits, heat lamps and seating. There are food booths and bars, and wait staff will even deliver drinks to your seat. Depending on the day there will be live music accompanying skaters. Also look for staff walking around the outside of the rink serving free s’mores. The fun in the rink doesn’t end when winter is over either. Look for roller skating in the summer with Tuesday nights featuring themes like the 1980s with contests, games and a DJ.
