When it comes to community, one of the blessings is coming together to support each other's strengths and attributes. This is the premise behind the creation of Mountain Arts Collective, located in the Train Depot in historic downtown Truckee since 2017. Created by three local artists, Mountain Arts Collective is a gallery that highlights the artisan craftsmanship of 24 local artists. The welcoming space offers beautiful, handcrafted treasures. The shop offers stunning nature-inspired woodwork, jewelry, modern art, eye-catching photography, pottery, various styles of paintings, stonework, welded metal, glass art, hand-knitted shawls as well as other art forms. The work ranges from higher-end statement pieces to smaller gifts. Beyond these magnificent items, the store also becomes a showcase for a specific local artist once a quarter, giving opportunity to see the full spectrum of their unique artistic gift. A local artist is always working the front desk.
