There is one event that is highly anticipated by locals and visitors alike: the Made in Tahoe Festival. Held each May in the Village at Squaw Valley, Made in Tahoe is a celebration of anything and everything that is made with love locally. The festival is a two-day extravaganza that includes plenty of booths that showcase the various offerings of our local artisans, including items such as handmade skis, jewelry, clothing and unique pieces of art as well as other treasures that can only be found in the magic of Lake Tahoe. Beyond the items of treasure, there are also days full of live music that will be rotating throughout the celebration as well as impressive local chefs giving tastings and entertainers providing smiles. There is food and beer available as well. The event is held in late May, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the first night and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. the second. As Lake Tahoe has a rich stock of highly talented artisans, be sure to make this an all-day event for the entire family. Your time will not be wasted. Oh, and to make the festival that much better, it's free!
