Lyft

The ride-sharing service Lyft is available on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe (under Lyft cities, search for Reno). This may be helpful in alleviating the wait times and limited availability of traditional taxi and cab service in the South Lake Tahoe area during peak-demand times such as New Year's Eve, big ski weekends, the Independence Day weekend and more. The Lyft service is also available at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, but be aware that state restrictions may result in different experiences between a ride to and from the airport to a Tahoe destination in California.
