Come watch planes make deep dives, twisty turns and thrilling loops in what some have described as the “best in the West” air show. Out in Tahoe the open expanses of land make it possible to enjoy an aerobatics airshow without having the view obstructed by any tall buildings. Professional aeronautic performers bring their skills to South Lake Tahoe to wow visitors in their fast-flying and brightly colored planes whizzing through the sky. The Lake in the Sky Air Show has happened since 1990, and the event’s performers often include returning stunt artists. While you and your family watch the show, you can also check out aviation memorabilia and satisfy rumbly tummies at the food court. Tickets are needed to attend the airshow, but admission is free for children 5 years old and younger. This Lake Tahoe annual event usually takes place during mid-September.
