Jai Yen features gifts and crafts from Thailand, Laos, Nepal, Bali and Burma as well as items by domestic and local craftspeople and artists. Owner Christy Lee Smith lives part of the year in Asia, traveling to different countries to discover new and innovative artists' works to sell in her shop and help the economies of these Asian communities. Located in a cabin set back from the main drag in Kings Beach, Jai Yen has a large, well-tended garden and pond out front. Step inside on a cold day to the warmth of a fire and a cup of hot tea. Marvel at the plethora of leather goods, jewelry, soaps and oils, colorful scarves, teapots, statues, clothing, hats, home decor, stonework and iconic flying pigs. Jai Yen is open seasonally, in the summer months and in December.
