Each August both wooden boat owners and enthusiasts head to the Tahoe Yacht Club for its annual wooden boat exhibition, the Concours d’Elegance. The Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation has hosted the Concours d’Elegance for more than 20 years, gaining recognition in the wooden boat community and Lake Tahoe’s maritime community. Stroll around the marina with a glass of regional wine in hand or strut down the gangplank to admire the spotless wood exteriors of these boats. In between exploring the different boats and watching their captains show them off on the lake, check out the local vendors at the marina for other Tahoe businesses, including retailers and real estate agencies. The show is a two-day event, including a gala and dance on the opening night, a men’s grill, ladies’ luncheon and more. This Lake Tahoe annual event is open to the public, and you’ll want to make sure you reserve your tickets ahead of time.
