The Char-Pit began as a seasonal, walk-up hamburger stand in the summer of 1962. It got so popular over the years that they put up four walls and a roof with some tables inside and shifted to year-round service. Sit down and invest some time studying their menu, a list that has grown over the years right along with the business. Their burgers come by the 1/4- or 1/2-pound in several configurations like the French, covered in bleu cheese and barbecue sauce on a french roll. Pick out a signature sandwich, fish basket or barbecue ribs. Don’t forget the classic fries or onion rings and a frosty milkshake or root beer float to round out the meal. Whatever you order, make sure you grab plenty of napkins. Picnic tables surround the outside of the building where your hound is welcome to hang out with you and gobble up the scraps. If you should have to wait for your order, try your hand at the vintage Ms. Pac-Man game and see if you still got it.
