When it comes to helping youth learn skills, find empowerment and make something of themselves, the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe (BGCNLT) is a longstanding place of action. With the mission of inspiring and enabling all youth, especially those in need, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens, BGCNLT brings hope to the Tahoe area. It's a nonprofit with arms reaching into various communities around Lake Tahoe, such as Kings Beach, Truckee and Incline Village, and it has helped more than 2,000 young people in the basin. Supporting kids and teens ages 3 to 18 years of age with wilderness, tech and peer group skills, BGCNLT supports a child in finding not only community, but also themselves.
