To truly take in the majestic energy of the beautiful Lake Tahoe forests, it is highly suggested that you visit our Sugar Pine State Park. But if you want to take this to another level of magic, combine it with their Big Bluegrass at Sugar Pine Park live music event happening in late July. An evening of bluegrass jams and stunning scenery, Big Bluegrass is a celebration of Big Blue and the twang of this traditional form of music. The occasion combines local food vendors, beer and wine as well as your choice of seating in an amphitheater of ample size. It is recommended to bring your own low back chairs, a flashlight, blankets to stay cozy and warm clothes. Be sure to arrive early to get the best seat, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and the music beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are sold prior for $20 or for $25 at the door. Kids 12 and younger are $10, and the little ones younger than 5 are free.
