Tallac Historic Site is a bringing together of different ways of engaging in the historical aspect of Lake Tahoe. The site has three forms of engagement. The first is the Baldwin Museum that focuses on the early days of settlement around Lake Tahoe, a replica of the 1930s kitchen, a display of yesteryear toys and games for kids as well as a gift shop that is filled with historical keepsakes and access to purchase tickets to events. The second is the Pope House, a real life version of early 1920s Tahoe giving an insider look at the rich and famous from days gone by. The third aspect is Valhalla Tahoe, an art, music and theater center that offers a large variety of shows. Various types of programs and events are offered at the Tallac Historic Site, including afternoon tea sessions with locals, gourd workshops, plays, musicals and the annual Gatsby Festival, Tea and Fashion Show. The site is only open during summer months.
