Ullr Fest comes to Incline Village every January bringing fun and games and hopefully some snow. A fundraiser for the Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation, Ullr Fest kicks off with a torchlight parade down the slopes of Diamond Peak and a party with live music and games. Races and competitions continue through the weekend with an uphill/downhill race, shovel races and a freestyle jiblet. A Saturday night dinner, dance and silent auction continue the fun. Attendees are requested to honor Ullr, the Norse god of snow and patron saint of skiers, by dressing up in their best Ullr attire for the weekend. (There’s nothing quite like a ski hill swarming with snow-Vikings in horned helmets.) Prizes are given for the best costumes. The Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization designed to help children develop alpine racing skills.
