It’s the moment of truth – one that avid standup paddleboarders have been waiting for all season. The Tahoe Cup Lake Crossing, formerly known as the Tahoe Cup Fall Classic, is the final race of the Tahoe Paddle Racing series and invites standup paddleboarders from all over the world to put their skills to the test. At 22 miles long, the Tahoe Cup Lake Crossing is the longest inland SUP race in the world. It starts at El Dorado Beach and finishes at Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort in North Lake Tahoe. This Lake Tahoe annual event is open to all elite standup paddleboarders and advanced recreational paddlers. Grab your trusty board and start paddling away, and if you’re fast enough, there’s a monetary prize for the top three winners! If you’d rather not paddle 22 miles, you may opt to try the shorter 3-mile course. After you reach Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort, gather with your fellow paddleboarders for lunch on the beach. It’s a great way to get some physical activity, see Lake Tahoe and bond with other SUP enthusiasts. This Lake Tahoe annual event is usually held in mid-September.
