Lake Tahoe ceaselessly inspires artists and craftspeople with its breathtaking views and relaxed vibes. When you’re out at galleries, art shows and arts and crafts fairs, do you ever wonder about the magic behind the curtain? What happens to create these masterpieces? For two weekends in August, artists open their studios to the public for the ARTour. This Lake Tahoe annual event held in Kings Beach, Truckee, Incline and Tahoe City and is your window into the creative processes that produce beautiful arts and crafts. This free and self-guided tour lets you explore the studios of photographers, woodworkers, sculptors, oil painters, potters, multimedia designers and more. You can see the artists at work and directly purchase pieces from them in this intimate setting. The tours last from the morning until the evening, so you can participate in this Lake Tahoe annual event on your own schedule. Visit one studio or all of them. Before the start of the tour days, you can also attend a reception for the event where you can mingle and share a drink with the artists. So whether you’re an art lover or just plain curious, the ARTour is an experience you don’t want to miss.
