Don your red, white and blue and your most patriotic behavior for Downtown Truckee’s 4th of July Parade. The 4th of July is the time to celebrate all that’s Americana, and what better way to do this than to come together with your fellow countrymen for a classic small town parade? The parade starts at the Truckee High School, marches down Donner Pass Road and into historic downtown Truckee. Participants from various organizations come out to join the parade, such as a regional Pipe Band in full Scottish dress! Both adults and children enjoy this spectacle that embraces a different theme every year. The parade typically begins late morning, so you have plenty of time to enjoy it before starting the grill, cranking up the Creedence Clearwater, watching fireworks or any other activity you associate with Independence Day. Come on out to downtown Truckee to check out this year’s theme, and celebrate your 4th of July Truckee style.
