Founded in 1982 as a community fundraiser, North Lake Tahoe's 10-day SNOWFEST winter festival packs a punch in both fun and funds raised. From February 28 to March 9, 2025, 40 events in the mountain towns of Tahoe City and Kings Beach will include parades, fireworks, snow golf tournaments, snow sculpture contests, crowning of the SNOWFEST Queen and King, ski races, parties, concerts, performances, kid-friendly activities, a wing-eating contest pancake breakfasts, a polar plunge, and so much more. Local restaurants, bars and businesses join the fun by hosting special parties, nightlife and family-friendly activities. Events are held throughout North Lake Tahoe, with the epicenter being Tahoe City. SNOWFEST, a 501(c)(3) public benefit nonprofit organization, brings locals and visitors together for a good time and for many good causes.
