Elevating the Edgewood Tahoe Experience

By Kayla Anderson | Sunday, June 8, 2025

On a sparkling blue Tahoe day, the landscape outside Edgewood Tahoe Resort’s lodge windows looks like a painting, the dramatically defined features of bright green grass below the lapis lazuli lake and the snow-adorned mountain range speckled with tall, widely spaced pines. Several guests stop what they are doing just to admire the view.

The Forbes four-star boutique resort is a haven of luxury. Between the spectacular architecture, comfortable adornments and natural surroundings shines the subliminal prestige that can only be found at Edgewood Tahoe.

Perfectly positioned on the Nevada-California state line, Edgewood Tahoe Resort is an ideal basecamp for exploring the Tahoe region – if you ever want to leave this idyllic escape.

Set on 235 lakefront acres surrounded by the Sierra Nevada, Edgewood was founded on an ethos of sustainability and environmental stewardship. Its history dates back more than 150 years to the rugged cattle ranchers of the Park family. The site earned a reputation as a vacation destination during the 1880s, and in 1968 rose to international fame when its awe-inspiring golf course was unveiled.

The 154-room LEED-certified lodge, inspired by the grand lodges of the American West, redefines mountain luxury with its stunning great room and elegant event spaces. Edgewood also offers 14 lakeview Villa Suites that offer privacy for discerning guests.

On site, guests enjoy lakefront activities, a year-round swimming pool and hot tub, a critically acclaimed spa, the world-class golf course and several dining options.

Dining at Edgewood is more than a meal, it’s an experience. Restaurants at Edgewood Tahoe include Brooks' Bar & Deck and Fairway Grill at Edgewood Golf Course and The Bistro, The Bistro Bar and Uplift Cafe in the Lodge.

Always continuing to raise the bar, this summer Edgewood Tahoe is opening The Edge Restaurant and Lounge, a new dining feature right on the cusp of Lake Tahoe’s shoreline.

Formerly known as Edgewood Restaurant, the newly remodeled fine dining establishment blends elegant mountain cuisine and modern flair set within an architectural aesthetic that enhances the environment around it. It is the perfect blend of the luxury and landscape found at Edgewood.

"The restaurant will be a destination in itself," says Edgewood Chief Operating Officer Corinna Osborne. "Executive Chef Jon Snyder has created a well-rounded culinary portfolio for the restaurant that will draw visitors from the resort and beyond."

As Snyder puts it, “The Edge complements the elevated aesthetic of the property. It’s the icing on the cake of everything else Edgewood has to offer. It’s a game changer.”

Snyder grew up in Lake Tahoe’s mountain environment, moving to South Lake a few decades ago when his parents bought a New England-style seafood restaurant. As a kid he gravitated toward the kitchen, and after high school he attended the Culinary Institute of America in New York. Upon graduation, he moved to Las Vegas, cooking for the Bellagio and MGM Grand. Tahoe was always home to him, though, and when the chance to move back presented itself, it was an opportunity he could not pass up.

Snyder’s culinary skillset, understanding of the mountain lifestyle and experience working at upscale resorts are the ideal combination for the executive chef position at the resort. He arrived at the perfect time, right at the beginning of the plans to remodel the former Edgewood restaurant into The Edge.

“The old Edgewood Restaurant was torn down to the studs, and we built a brand-new dining room, lounge, bar area and kitchen,” Snyder says. “You don’t often get an opportunity to be part of a project like this.”

Snyder shares that the new dining room is stunning, with some of the lakefront tables so close to the water it feels like you are floating.

“You can’t beat the view, it’s on the edge of the water,” he says. “This restaurant is a refinement of the elevated luxury Edgewood provides, and the dining aspect is very integrated into the environment.”

The Edge will have an a la carte menu and a pre-fixe menu, which will change as often as the chefs see fit and with the seasons.

Osborne adds, "We’ve created a dining experience that captures the warmth of the region while embracing contemporary sophistication. The Edge reflects our dedication to providing exceptional hospitality and memorable experiences in a setting of extraordinary natural beauty.”

Another leveling up at Edgewood Tahoe this summer will be the addition of boating experiences. Resort guests will have the option to use Edgewood Tahoe’s exclusive fleet of MasterCraft boats, which offer premium performance and comfort for days on the water. Their MasterCraft XT24 Wakesurf boat and MasterCraft NXT24 boats are conveniently located at the Edgewood Tahoe Pier.
