Kaspian Recreation Area is on Highway 89, 4 miles south of Tahoe City at the base of Blackwood Canyon. A campground and outdoor recreation area, the zone is excellent for wilderness fun in summer and winter. The summer offers mountain biking, road cycling and hiking. In the winter the recreation area offers snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snow-play areas. The campground is across the street from the lake, providing easy access to the free public beaches and the bike path that encircles a portion of the west shore of Lake Tahoe. Best suited for tents only, the camp sites offer campfire rings, grills and picnic tables. There are public toilets as well. This is a summer-only campground.
