A relative newcomer to downtown Truckee, Marg’s Taco Bistro is already a favorite among locals and visitors. Marg’s spins new, multi-cultural takes on its tacos and creative ingredient combinations that make for huge flavors in its margaritas. There are tacos with a Vietnamese flare and one with shrimp as the star, a vindaloo from India and even a take on a Philly cheesesteak. And those are just a few of the choices. Try the Taco Barco and mix six. If the nuevo taco thing isn’t your taste, go for the tried and true carne asada and carnitas. As with the tacos, Marg’s other trademark offerings don’t disappoint. Bartenders make watermelon, kiwi, ginger and other purees daily for margaritas. Try a watermelon-ginger-mint margarita for a new twist. For a sweet and spicy mindblower, order a stra-benero or kiwi-jalapeño margarita. And as with the tacos, if a classic margarita is all you want, Marg’s makes a Cadillac margarita shine. Capping off the Marg’s experience is indoor/outdoor dining, a walk-up bar off the patio and, most importantly, homemade tortillas served warm.
