Emerald Bay Trolley runs a public transportation route back and forth along the southwest corner of Lake Tahoe during late spring through early fall. For a wonderfully low fare, passengers can ride from one end of the stretch at the South Y Transit Center in South Lake Tahoe all the way up the West Shore to Homewood with stops in between at sites such as Meeks Bay Resort, Vikingsholm, the Taylor Creek Visitor Center and more. While the trolley is slated for daily operation during the peak of the summer season, it has a limited schedule earlier and later in the year, so it's best to check ahead of time if you plan to catch a ride.
