Pet-Friendly Lake Tahoe Beaches and Parks

By Tahoe Staff | Thursday, January 21, 2016

As you've probably noticed, even if you just got to town for a visit, this area is very dog friendly. Treat your best furry pal to nice walk on a Lake Tahoe beach, or throw the tennis ball around at one of our maintained parks.

The Bijou Dog Park (South Lake) — This off-leash Lake Tahoe dog park is surrounded by beautiful trees and grassy fields. Separated fenced areas for large and small dogs keep your pets safe, and sanitary amenities keep the park clean.

Coon Street Beach (North Lake) — This is a smaller, popular dog beach with picnic tables, BBQs and restrooms.

Kiva Beach (South Lake) — Right off Highway 89, Kiva beach is a great spot to take your dog for a swim.

Nevada Beach (South Lake) — There is a designated dog area near the south side of this huge beach, which includes restrooms, grills and disabled-access walkways.
