Kings Beach Summer Activities

Owned and operated by a true Tahoe local, Adrift Tahoe carries the leading brands of standup paddleboards for sale or rent. The beach is just outside Adrift's back door, so you can walk your rental or potential purchase right out to the sand and launch into the lake for a test drive or a day’s journey. Adrift also rents canoes and kayaks and stocks all the equipment you’ll need for a day on the water, including apparel, hats, sandals, sunglasses and sundries. Whether you’re just starting out or are an advanced paddler, the expert staff can set you up with the right gear for all your needs. In the shop they have a selection of hard and inflatable paddleboards for sale, along with custom apparel. Adrift Tahoe is closed in the winter.

With its easy location in the center of town, Kings Beach State Recreation Area makes enjoying the sandy shoreline of Lake Tahoe simple. The park itself is free, and offers day use of a few miles of sandy beach, public bathrooms, a children's play area and barbecue grills. There are boat, Jet Ski and paddleboard rentals, and parking costs $10 for both cars and trucks. Dogs are not allowed on the beach; however, they are allowed in the picnic areas. Dogs must be on a leash 6-foot or shorter at all times. In the winter most of the bathrooms and other facilities are closed.

Waterman's Landing is a place of gathering, delicious food and adventure on the shores of Lake Tahoe. A collective of local businesses as well as a small cafe, this year-round hotspot is nestled on Patton Landing Beach. With easy access to Lake Tahoe, Waterman's Landing provides kayak and paddleboard tours and lessons as well as rentals of paddleboards, kayaks, canoes and other water toys. With a menu providing breakfast, lunch, snacks and alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, the locally owned, family-run cafe provides hearty meals to keep energy levels high. Waterman's Landing is open year round.
