Lake Tahoe Casinos

After a day of swooshing down the ski slopes or sunbathing on the beach, put a spin on your evening by paying a visit to a Lake Tahoe casino. All of the Lake Tahoe casinos are located on the Nevada side of the lake, so don’t plan on finding any slot machines in the Californian towns. You will, however, find the casinos in a variety of venues, including resorts, restaurants or just their individual establishments. There’s one Incline Village casino and one in Crystal Bay (with a history that started in 1937), but all the others are Stateline casinos. Some of these Nevada establishments are legends, having featured every big name performer who came through the ages as well as hosting celebrity golf championships and major boxing exhibitions. There’s still the cherished bygone sense of style in the nightclubs and personalities of some of these Lake Tahoe casinos. And there are also the newer casinos that trade on luxury, fine dining and amenities galore.

Things To Do at Lake Tahoe Casinos

Lake Tahoe casinos’ themes range from upscale to a reflection of the area’s wood and stone landscape, Old West saloons to hip and edgy nightclubs and rock n’ roll to ghostly. You can bluff your hand as you sit under a full-grown (and fake) oak tree or spin the roulette wheel as neon lights flash around you.

If gambling isn’t your scene, worry not – Lake Tahoe casinos offer other diversions. Take a dip in a pool or hot tub, grab a bite to eat in a casino restaurant, sip on an iced beverage at a bar, browse through the gift shops for souvenirs for your friends back at home or treat yourself to a little pampering at a spa. Some casinos are family friendly and have more age-appropriate activities for the youngsters. While the parents play poker, the kids can brush up on their skee ball skills. No one misses out on the fun.

Lake Tahoe casinos are still known for their live entertainment. See great musicians and other performers share their talent. Between your dancing feet, racing heart and calculating mind, get ready for a casino experience that’ll stand out in your vacation.

Lakeside Inn and Casino

Lakeside Inn and Casino
168 U.S. Highway 50, Stateline, NV
(775) 589-2313

The Lakeside Inn and Casino has made a name for itself as a locals’ favorite on the South Shore. Slightly removed from the group of high-rise casino resorts clustered at the state line, the Lakeside has maintained a Tahoe charm, evidenced in its wood-shingle exterior and timber-themed interior. This Sierra-lodge theme carries over into the hotel rooms, furnished with rustic furniture and smooth-hewn wood paneling. Another feature that sets the Lakeside apart from other hotels and resorts is the property’s commitment to being Fee Free. There are no hidden charges, such as service fees or resort fees, nor is there a charge for the WiFi. Hotel guests even receive free day passes to the local gym, Kahle Community Center, just across the street. For the activity-minded, Lakeside has a year-round hot tub and a seasonal outdoor pool, and there is a recently completed bike path that leads to two of the nearby Nevada-side Lake Tahoe beaches. All this, and pet-friendly rooms are available as well.

Dining is available at two on-site restaurants, The Timbers and Latin Soul. The Timbers has a classic Nevada-style ambiance, with open-beam ceilings and a new, fresh décor. Open all day and night, the restaurant offers traditional American fare as well as high-end dining options. Latin Soul is a fresh addition to the Lakeside, and Executive Chef Alvaro Ochoa has rapidly built quite a reputation for his Latin Fusion menu. One of the highlights of this restaurant is the Friday and Saturday Brazilian Barbeque, which includes endless portions of slow-roasted meats carved right at the table.

The casino offers everything you could want in a gaming establishment, from poker and blackjack and roulette, to slots and craps and a sports book. Look for the 3-to-2 odds on all blackjacks and the 10-times odds on all numbers at the craps table. In line with the philosophy of being one of the friendliest spots in town, there is the University of Lakeside, a weekly class that teaches the fundamentals of the games. On the main casino floor is also the Coffee Bar serving locally roasted Alpen Sierra coffees as well as coffee alcohol beverages, smoothies, salads, bagels and more.
